‘Tableau’ is a large format work created with 2 lino blocks printed side by side. It is inspired by the alpine environment at the summit of kunanyi / Mt Wellington where I live and work. With ‘Tableau’, the composition seemed to jump out at me as an almost ‘staged’ vignette in the alpine landscape. I love the colours that the light creates as it bends and reflects around the rocks and plants.
This linocut is printed with oil based ink on Stonehenge paper. I have printed only a small edition of 10 prints. Each is hand painted individually with watercolour. The image size (excluding signature and title) is approximately 45cm h x 60 cm w with the paper measuring 56cm x 76cm. .
