‘Summit 16, Midwinter’ continues my series of kunanyi/Mt Wellington inspired linocuts. You can see the others in the series here. In ‘Summit 16, Midwinter’ I have explored the late afternoon light that falls on the rocks standing high on the northern face of the summit, surrounded by winter snow. I love the way the snow forms islands of plant-life and rocks, and catches the late rays of the sun casting colourful shadows.
This linocut measures approximately 30cm wide by 50cm high, not including signature. The paper is larger still, as pictured. Each print is numbered and signed with this being an edition of 15. I print using oil-based relief printing ink on Stonehenge paper. Each linocut is then individually hand painted with watercolour.
This unframed linocut will be shipped securely in a mailing cylinder.
