This large hand painted linocut is made up of 3 separate blocks printed together to create a meditation on the tangle of moorland plants that populate Tasmania’s alpine wetlands. Many of the plants are from the Proteaceae family which feel familiar to me, having been a Protea and Native Flower farmer in the past. I have focussed on the complexity of detail, creating a rhythm of textures and colours as a reminder of the feeling of walking through the alpine moorland on a clear winter day.
This large work made its debut at my solo shows in NSW and Hobart in July 2025.
The work measures approximately 40cm (16") wide by 90 (36”) cm high, not including signature. The paper is larger still, as pictured. Each print is numbered and signed with this being a small edition of 6. I print using oil-based relief printing ink on oversized Stonehenge paper. Each linocut is then individually hand painted with watercolour.
This unframed linocut will be shipped securely in a mailing cylinder.
