‘Surfacing’ at Devonport Regional Gallery
‘Surfacing’ is a group exhibition featuring 14 contemporary printmakers from across lutruwita/Tasmania, working as part of the nowhereprint collective. The show opened on 1 August and continues until 3 October 2026, at Devonport Regional Gallery. A catalogue was produced and is available to purchase from the gallery.
I created a large triptych called Lost World, based on my experience of the Lost World Track on kunanyi. Below is part of my artists statement for this work -
Experiencing a new landscape can seem like discovering a lost world. Tasmania frequently provides this experience. Exploring unmapped and uncharted territory provides a metaphor for human existence. We are all, quite literally, exploring new worlds - each living a life that has never been lived before. Sometimes we stick to the main thoroughfares. Sometimes we end up scrambling over rocks, trying to hang on, either in search of adventure or in a effort to survive.
