Hadleys Art Prize
The 2026 Hadleys Art Prize exhibition officially opened on 31st July. The $100,000 major acquisitive prize was awarded to Robert Fielding for his wonderful painting ‘Landscape’. Robert made a generous, heartfelt acceptance speech which was memorable and inspiring. Kelsey Ashe was awarded the residency prize. It was an honour to be included in this years finalists exhibition and to meet many of the other artists over the opening weekend. I enjoyed the artists talks in the gallery on the morning after the opening.
The Hadley’s Art Prize is one of the most significant art prizes in Australia and it was an amazing experience to be involved. The Hadley’s team are exceptional. I must mention the judges too - Judith Ryan AM, Abdul Abdulla and Sarah Wallace - who were generous with their time and expertise.
The Hadleys Art Prize 2026 is open daily at Hadleys Hotel in Murray Street, Hobart, from 10-4 until 23rd August.
