‘Elements’ is a small study I made to explore the elements of the alpine landscape at the summit of kunanyi/Mt Wellington. These elements include the rocks in their various colours textures and shapes, the plant life that grows around them, and often the snow that seems to create spaces between them. I also see it as the elements of my practice - the printed ink is solid like the rocks, the watercolour is subtle and changeable like the plant life, and the snow mirrors the paper or the negative space around the work. I particularly enjoyed playing with the colours in this piece.

For each of my works, I hand carve lino, and print with oil based printing ink onto Stonehenge paper. Colour is added with watercolour, each piece individually hand painted.

The image size measures 30cm high (12") x 20 cm wide (approx 8 1/4") with the paper larger as shown. Each artwork is signed and numbered with the edition limited to 10. This piece is shipped flat, wrapped in cello and mounted on foam core.
